What is COSMOS Organic?
COSMOS Organic is a certification for organic and natural cosmetic products. It is a globally recognized standard that ensures products are made from natural or organic ingredients, free of harmful chemicals and produced using environmentally friendly manufacturing processes. COSMOS Organic certification requires a minimum of 95% natural or organic ingredients, with strict restrictions on the use of synthetic fragrances, dyes, and preservatives. The certification also requires full traceability of all ingredients, as well as environmentally responsible packaging. By choosing COSMOS Organic certified products, consumers can be assured they are using safe, ethical, and sustainable products.
What is Soil Association Organic?
The Soil Association Organic is a certification program that sets strict standards for organic food and farming, as well as organic beauty and skincare products. To receive certification, products must meet the Soil Association's standards for sustainable and ethical farming practices, which includes avoiding the use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, and promoting biodiversity and animal welfare. The certification also ensures that products are free of genetically modified ingredients, and that they are packaged in environmentally responsible materials. By choosing products certified by the Soil Association Organic, consumers can be confident that they are supporting a sustainable and ethical food and farming system that is better for the environment and our health.
Why are natural wax candles best?
Natural wax, such as the beeswax and coconut oil used in our Night Blooms of Lune candle, is made from renewable resources and is biodegradable, making it a much more environmentally friendly option than synthetic wax. It also burns cleaner than synthetic wax, producing less soot and pollutants that can be harmful to air quality and respiratory health. Lastly, natural wax has a lower melting point than synthetic wax, which means it can burn at a cooler temperature, allowing for a longer and more even burn time. Overall, natural wax is a great choice for those who want a high-quality, eco-friendly candle.
Why do you use Wild African Beeswax instead of more common natural waxes such as Soy?
We are very proud to have Wild African beeswax in all our candles. Primarily we chose this wax because it has been sourced sustainably, without causing harm to the environment or wildlife. Soy, on the other hand, is often produced using large-scale, monoculture farming methods that can have significant negative impacts on the environment, including deforestation and destruction of natural habitats. Additionally, many soy crops are genetically modified and treated with pesticides, which can have harmful effects on the soil and surrounding ecosystems. Furthermore, our wild African beeswax is harvested by local communities in a way that supports their livelihoods and traditions, helping to promote sustainable economic development in the region.
Why is organic skincare best?
Organic skincare products are made with natural and organic ingredients that are free from synthetic chemicals and potentially harmful additives. Organic ingredients are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, which can harm the environment and our health. Organic skincare products are also free from harsh chemicals that can strip the skin of its natural oils and cause irritation or allergic reactions. Instead, they are formulated with gentle, nourishing ingredients that work to improve skin health and hydration. Using organic skincare products can provide many benefits, including smoother, clearer, and more radiant skin, and reduced exposure to potentially harmful chemicals.
What are your candle vessels made from?
Our candles are housed in ethically sourced onyx formed in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains in Pakistan. This unique type of marble is formed from the deposits of limestone caves and warm springs which are created over thousands of years. Natural stone is one of the most eco-friendly materials in the world. It has infinite longevity, is 100% recyclable and requires no factory production.
Will my candle vessel look exactly like the ones in your website images?
Onyx has varying patterns due to the way it forms. It’s banded structure, made up of layers of microscopic crystals of quartz, creates a beautiful, natural pattern that is unique to each piece. We have tried to make sure that our images contain a range of our vessels so you can see how they may vary.
What is mycelium and why is it the ultimate sustainable packaging?
What is a snuffer and how do I use one?
A snuffer is a tool used to extinguish candles without blowing them out. It typically consists of a small bell-shaped cup attached to a long handle. To use a snuffer, the cup is placed over the flame of a burning candle, depriving it of oxygen and causing it to go out. They allow for a more controlled and gentle way of extinguishing candles, reducing the risk of splattering wax or creating smoke.
What is Gua Sha?
Gua sha is a traditional Chinese healing technique that involves using a tool to scrape the skin in order to stimulate blood flow, reduce inflammation, and release tension. The technique has been used for centuries to improve overall health and well-being, as well as to treat a variety of health conditions. In recent years, gua sha has gained popularity as a natural and effective way to improve skin health and appearance, particularly in the facial area. Gua sha tools can be made from a variety of materials, including jade, rose quartz, and stainless steel, and can be used with a variety of oils or serums for added skin benefits. Our tool is made from Onyx and we recommend it is used in combination with both our Wildflowers of Solaris Facial Oil and Night Blooms of Lune massage candle.

At what point should you use facial oil in a skincare routine?
We recommend using our Wild Flowers of Solaris Facial Oil after cleansing and toning and prior to any SPF and make up. Our oil is a multi-functioning product and can be used to meet all your skincare needs at this point. The oil itself contains many active ingredients so should be applied to clean, dry skin.
However, if your skin is feeling particularly dehydrated or dry, you can add a layer of moisturiser over the top of the oil to further moisturise and lock in the oil’s benefits.
What is Bakuchiol?
Bakuchiol is a plant-based ingredient extracted from the seeds and leaves of the babchi plant, which is native to India. Bakuchiol has been shown to have similar benefits to retinol, such as stimulating collagen production and improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but without the potential side effects like irritation and sensitivity. Additionally, bakuchiol is also known to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, making it a great addition to any skincare routine.
How does Prickly Pear oil benefit your skin?

It is known to have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and moisturising properties, making it a great ingredient for skincare. Are your products safe for use in pregnancy?
Yes - they are. With regards to pregnancy, the area that most people are concerned with is the use of essential oils. Advice on use can range from recommending that no essential oils be used in pregnancy, to the more common suggestion of using only very low doses of only the most ‘non-toxic’ of essential oils. However a lot of the researched evidence is based on the ingestion of essential oils and not topical application. The reality is that if essential oils are applied topically, the blood and body absorption rate is likely to be very low as essential oils are commonly used in relatively low proportions in skincare. All of the essential oils used in our products are commonly used oils and are present in very low dilutions, so are therefore unlikely to pose any risk.
